Most people are obsessed with motivation.
They believe that motivation is what will drive them to achieve,
what they are required to do.
They often complain.
“Well, yeah, but I don’t have the motivation now.
How do I stay motivated?
I lack motivation, etcc..
But in the meantime, they fail to realize,
Motivation is not the solution for their long-term problems.
Motivation is simply the spark that gets you started.
It’s that initial burst of energy or excitement that pushes you to take just the first step.
However,
The reason why most people fail to build on that “first step,"
It is not because of the “lack of motivation”.
Motivation is simply a short-term drug to stop procrastinating.
Motivation is largely driven by emotions.
And emotions are inherently unstable.
They fluctuate based on your mood, environment, and circumstances.
Because of this, motivation can be fleeting.
It might get you started, but it rarely lasts long enough to see you through to the end.
Now you’re probably thinking,
Well, what’s the solution, then?
The solution is quite simple and straight-forward.
This is something that I call the 2D principle.
And no, this is not the second dimension or something, but two words.
Dedication and discipline.
Let’s be real .
I am not trying to be David Goggins here.
I know these are not easy to put in place , these might also sound super vague and boring .
But these are the only two things you’ll ever need to do literally anything.
It’s the backbone of any action.
The long-term benefits of these are "long-term".
So, we’ve understood why motivation is useless.
Now the question is: how do you really build ,
Strong discipline.
Pure dedication.
(The answer might surprise you )
In the next email, I’ll show you exactly.
How one can stay disciplined for long-term success and the science behind it.
And after that,
I’ll show you what pure dedication really means.
Until next time,
Samiul .
